Toronto International Film Festival 2016: The Top 10 Movies You Need to See

Nocturnal Animals

Seven years is a long time in the film world, but when you're fashion designer Tom Ford and your debut film was as good as his, he can afford to take time to make his sophomore effort perfect. Ford's follow-up to A Single Man is Nocturnal Animals, a movie with a stacked cast headlined by Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal. The plot finds Adams as a successful Los Angeles art gallery owner who becomes entranced by a script written by her first husband (Gyllenhaal). As the story in the script and real life unfold, the two become insuperable. The film is based on Austin Wright's novel Tony And Susan and opens on December 9. (Getty)
