‘This Is Us’ Preview & Spoilers: Episode 6 ‘Career Days’ Photos

Based on this photo, it looks like William is still alive in the present. There was some concern that he died already because of how "The Game Plan" ended. In a post-show Entertainment Weekly interview, creator Dan Fogelman said that the scene showing Randall grieving after William's death was an "almost metaphysical glimpse at a hypothetical future." Fogelman said that Jones is in "Career Days," adding, "But we have this ominous thing looming in some kind of distant or near-distant future." So it looks like This Is Us teased us with a third time period, a future in which William is dead. (Ron Batzdorff/NBC)
