Fargo is back for Season 3, and it’s bound to be an exciting ride. This season, Ewan McGregor will be playing two brothers on opposite ends of the social spectrum: Emmitt Stussy, a good-looking real estate guru, and his younger brother Ray, a less-attractive parole officer.
The new cast this season also boasts The Leftovers star Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Braindead, Nikki Swango, and David Thewlis, who played Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter franchise.
This season of Fargo is set in 2010, and will circle namely around the rivalry between the Stussy brothers. In a recent interview with Collider, showrunner Noah Hawley dished that all seasons of the show are their own entities with the ability to stand on their own two feet, and this season will be no exception. When asked if he always planned on having the Stussy brothers played by just one actor, Hawley said, “From the very first moment, there were two brothers played by the same actor. I couldn’t tell you why. That’s just what the idea was, so I didn’t question it. And when I told the network, I think they were very happy because obviously it becomes an attractive job for an actor to get to play two roles.”
