Supermodel Hannah Davis Jeter is married to New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, who is having his number 2 retired by the team on May 14. Ever since Jeter began appearing in Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue in 2013, she has become one of the best-known American models in the world, earning millions.
The 27-year-old Jeter was born and raised in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She married Derek Jeter in July 2016 and they announced in February 2017 that she’s expecting a daughter.
You can follow Jeter on Instagram and Twitter.
Here’s what you need to know about Hannah Davis Jeter’s net worth.
1. She Has an Estimated Net Worth of $3 Million
Jeter has an estimated net worth of $3 million, celebrity net worth estimates.
Despite her fame, Jeter didn’t land high on Forbes‘ 2016 list of the highest-paid models in the world. Her worth pales in comparison to Brazilian beauties Gisele Bundchen, whose estimated net worth is $360 million, and Adriana Lima, whose estimated net worth is $75 million.
Jeter could have become an athlete herself if she chose to pursue a tennis career. When she was eighth years old, she started playing tennis and was a champion on the Caribbean national tennis team. In fact, her 2015 GQ profile notes that she started in modeling to pay for her tennis rackets.
“Started modeling to buy tennis rackets,” she told the magazine. “And it kiiinda grew from there.” In the following video for SI, she shows off her tennis skills.
2. She Got a ‘Strong Six-Figure Deal’ to Star in the DirecTV Ads With a Horse
After the DirecTV ads with Rob Lowe were pulled, the company signed Jeter. An industry source told the New York Post in April 2015 that she was signed to a “strong six-figure deal.”
“Hannah was less expensive than Rob Lowe, who got a seven-figure deal, but that was spread across multiple ads he shot for the company,” the source told the Post.
Davis starred in several commercials for DirecTV, co-starring with a talking horse on a beach. She told audiences that, if they don’t believe all the great things she has to say about DirecTV service, you can take it “straight from my horse’s mouth.”
Before the “horse’s mouth” commercials, Daviss also appeared in DiecTV Genie commercials, like the one below.
3. She Broke Through as a Ralph Lauren Model, Long Before Posing for Sports Illustrated
While Jeter is best known today for her work with Sports Illustrated, she broke through as a model for Ralph Lauren. In 2006 – seven years before her first SI photoshoot – she appeared in the Spring/Summer Ralph Lauren runway show, notes her Fashion Model Directory profile. She was also the face of the brand’s Ralph Rocks campaign. It was the first time she’d done ads for a fragrance.
In the above video from 2009, Daivs said that one of her favorite parts of being a model is getting to travel.
In a 2016 interview with Maxim, Davis said she once thought about quitting modeling because of the “harsh criticism.” But she ultimately stuck with it and in 2013, she landed in her first Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
4. Jeter & Derek Jeter Live in a $7.7 Million Florida Mansion
Derek Jeter played his last baseball game in 2014 and has been living in Florida ever since. The New York Post reported in May 2016 that he and his wife now lives in a $7.7 million mansion on Davis Island in Tampa, Florida. The mansion covers 30,875 square feet. The couple also have an Italian mastiff, which was a gift for Jeter.
“[Derek Jeter’s] got this Italian mastiff, and it’s vicious. When he first got it, it was a cute little puppy, but it became controversial on the block,” one neighbor told the Post. “All of the dogs are afraid of him. He was outside barking all of the time. It wasn’t a normal bark. It was a bark you could hear blocks away.”
Derek Jeter is also involved with running The Players’ Tribune, where athletes post essays to give their perspective on their lives and jobs. Jeter herself used the platform in February 2017 to announce that she’s pregnant with their first child.
In her essay, Jeter wrote:
We want our kids’ lives to be as “normal” as possible. They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. They’re going to have to be some strong little people. We don’t want them to be defined by their dad’s name — for them, we want him to just be “Dad.” That will be the piece of him they’ll have that the rest of the world doesn’t. It will be special, and it will be theirs.
The couple married in July 2016 at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in California. She wore a custom Vera Wand Bride dress.
5. She Started Appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2013 & Made the 2015 Cover
Jeter has been a mainstay in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues since she was a rookie in 2013. She’s appeared in every issue since then, even making the cover in 2015.
That 2015 cover was quite controversial in some circles because Jeter wore her bikini bottom as low as humanly possible without exposing herself. In a Today Show interview, she said the controversy was overblown.
“I think you’re making it look a lot naughtier than it really is to be honest,” Jeter told Matt Lauer. “To be honest, I think SI always tries to do something a little different every year, and I think this year, it’s the year of the torso.”
Jeter called it an “overwhelming” honor to be on the cover and said she hopes to have a career like Kathy Ireland’s.
“I really actually would like to model my career after someone like Kathy Ireland,” Davis told Lauer. “I think she just built this incredible empire, but she honors the fact that Sports Illustrated was the platform that got her to that place.”
In addition to her work with SI, Jeter is also the host of Lifetime’s Project Runway: Junior.
