Phaedra Parks was fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta after spreading a vicious rumor that turned out to be a lie. The lawyer turned reality television star claimed that she heard that Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker wanted to drug Porsha Williams and “take advantage of her sexually.” She told this “rumor” to Williams directly and said that someone told it to her. It turns out, Parks made up the whole thing.
This whole thing went down on the show’s reunion finale, causing most of the RHOA cast to break down in tears. Even host Andy Cohen was shocked by what had occurred.
“I was just very surprised — not just by the revelation that Phaedra spread. I was surprised by her. She seemed kind of withdrawn about it,” he told Us Weekly on May 8.
It has been over a week since that episode aired and TMZ is now reporting that Parks is not only being “harassed and bullied,” but the report also claims that she’s mad because she feels as though she was “set up.”
Sources tell TMZ that Parks is angry with a producer because she claims that they fed her the story.
“The producer didn’t necessarily tell her to repeat it with cameras rolling, but we’re told Phaedra explained the producer’s role during the reunion show. She’s also angry because that was edited out of the reunion to make it look like she acted alone. We’re told the way Phaedra sees it, she was fired in retaliation for throwing producers under the bus.”
Parks has been having a hard time since the finale aired. Aside from being fired by Bravo, the former Housewife has been receiving online threats and hate mail. Things have gotten so bad that even her kids are being harassed, according to TMZ. Things have gotten so bad that many are wondering if Parks will lose her license to practice law, thanks to one man who believes that she has done enough to warrant such punishment.
“Michael Lissack has filed an official grievance with the State Bar of Georgia against Phaedra for her behavior on ‘Real Housewives.’ He told us why he thinks Phaedra’s treatment of Kandi and Porsha this past season is grounds to yank her law license.”
Parks has yet to comment publicly on the recent RHOA happenings following the airing of the show’s finale. She did do an interview with People Magazine before the story went public. In that interview, Parks said that she had no regrets.
“What’s meant to happen will happen. They say you’re set up to step up for the next thing, right? I know that I’m fortunate. I know that good things happen to me because I have my feet on frugal ground. I can’t regret anything, but I know it was destined to happen.”
Parks has been relatively silent on social media, only posting a couple of things since word that she was fired hit the internet.
