For months, there have been reports, updating Alaskan Bush People fans on the health of Ami Brown as she battles lung cancer. The most recent information, provided by her daughter Rain, is that Brown is currently undergoing her second round of chemo to combat the disease. In the below Instagram post, Rain revealed:
My mom and I spent all morning making our favorite peach tea and our own mix of essential oils together (frankincense, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit, and spearmint) with coconut oil as a carrier and a touch of shimmer, she is now going though her second round of chemo, sadly I can’t say how she is doing just yet, but we are all hopeful and faithful, thank you all so much for your support and love in this harsh time, stay strong my rainbows, God bless #mommytime #teatime #staystrong #stayhappy #planttherapy.
So, it looks like Brown is turning to natural remedies, as well as modern medicine.
In addition to posting information on her mother’s health status, Rain has also been speaking out about her personal beliefs. Most recently, she made a post about age equality and about dealing with haters, saying that:
Just because I’m 14 doesn’t make me less of a person then a 60 year old our time spent on this earth or how we spend it shouldn’t change the way people treat you … Basically what I’m getting to is, all my life I’ve wanted to change something and so many people tell me I can’t, but I already have, even if no one agrees with me I still made them think. and I’m not about to let anyone make me give up on my dream, my mission is to spread love and light on this dark world, join me be strong and fierce but kind and compassionate to your neighbors, life is all about balance.
With the above captions, Rain Brown has also used the hashtags #staystrong and #stayhappy, which she continues to use when she makes posts about her mother’s cancer journey as well. Rain has also discussed that she has recently been battling depression and “dark” feelings. Perhaps her mother’s illness is taking its toll on her.
When Alaskan Bush People featured the diagnosis of Ami Brown’s lung cancer on its show, daughter Rain said that:
I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what you’ve been through. I don’t care how old you are. If you hear that your mother has cancer, it’s going to shock you. I just wish I could change it somehow. I’m very scared for her.
In August 2016, Ami Brown revealed to People that the chance of survival she was given is 3%. She also said that she will not accept death without a fight. Brown stated:
I realized early into this that it’s very easy to want to give up and just die. And on the pessimist side, it could be my last days. But I have the will to fight.
