Grant Gustin and Stephen Arnell are pictured above. Their characters switch identities in the Elseworlds Crossover event.

Here are the official synopses for each episode. Episode 1: "EPIC ELSEWORLDS CROSSOVER KICKS OFF TONIGHT — When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (guest star Stephen Amell) wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other, the two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when they present their case to Team Flash and the gang doesn’t believe them. Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl’s (guest star Melissa Benoist) help and travel to Smallville on Earth-38 where they end up meeting Kara’s cousin, Clark Kent (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch). LaMonica Garrett guest stars as The Monitor. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Sam Chalsen."

Episode 2: "THE ELSEWORLDS CROSSOVER CONTINUES IN GOTHAM CITY WITH BATWOMAN (RUBY ROSE) — With Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) still stuck in the other’s bodies, the two get a lead on John Deegan (guest star Jeremy Davies) and head to Gotham City with Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) to figure out why their reality has changed. While there, they meet the mysterious Kate Kane (guest star Ruby Rose) who provides them with information that leads the group to Arkham Asylum. James Bamford directed the episode with teleplay by Marc Guggenheim and story by Caroline Dries."

Episode 3: "THE BATTLE CONCLUDES — Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) engage in the battle of their lives. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Derek Simon & Robert Rovner."

According to IMDB, the following cast is expected to appear in Episode 2, which is the Arrow episode of the crossover: Stephen Arnell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity, Echo Kellum as Curtis, Rick Gonzalez as Rene, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah, Colton Haynes as Roy, and Katie Cassidy as Laurel. Also listed are Kirk Acevedo (he was recently on 12 Monkeys on Syfy), Cassandra Jean Arnell as Nora Fries, John Barrowman, Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, Bob Frazer as Roger Hayden, LaMonica Garrett as Mar Novu'/The Monitor, and Grant Gustin as Barry Allen.

About Elseworlds: The crossover event beings with The Flash airing tonight instead of Supergirl on The CW (Sunday, December 9) at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. The next episode in the crossover will be Arrow, which will air on Monday night, December 10, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. A new episode of Legends of Tomorrow will then air at 9 p.m. Eastern, but it won’t be connected to the crossover event.

The final Elseworlds episode will then air with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. A midseason finale of Black Lightning will air after that, also not connected to the crossover event.

Each episode of Elseworlds will have a different tone that matches the show "sponsoring" the episode. In these episodes, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow will switch identities with Barry Allen/The Flash, as a result of Dr. John Deegan (played by Jeremy Davies) manipulating reality. While they’re playing each other’s roles, they’ll also cross paths with Supergirl, Batwoman (being introduced in the Arrowverse for the first time), Superman, and The Monitor, whom we saw in the teaser, Comicbook.com reported.

The basic plot of the crossover event, according to Syfy, is that a godlike character called Monitor gives Dr. John Deegan the ability to reshape reality. Barry and Oliver, as a result, swap identities. They must recruit Supergirl to help them get things back in order before irreversible damage is done. Oliver and Barry are aware they're in the wrong bodies, so it makes everything that much more fun to watch. Click through the gallery to see more photos, news about the cast, and spoilers.
