‘The Masked Singer’ Season 3 Episode 3 Recap
Season 3 of The Masked Singer is a little bit different. The contestants have been broken up into three different groups and first A is the first to perform. So far, Lil Wayne was unmasked as The Robot, as well as Drew Carey being confirmed as The Llama. In episode three, The Kangaroo, The White Tiger, The Turtle, and Miss Monster performed. To kick off the competition, the group did a performance together singing Kiss’ “I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night.”
The Turtle was the first solo performer of the night. For his third song, The Turtle performed “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes. “That is my favorite performance so far!” Nicole Scherzinger said. “Oh my gosh. I love your voice so much and you can dance!” The judges guessed The Turtle could be Nick Lachey, Jaden Smith or Hunter Hayes.
Miss Monster was the second to sing. She sang Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me.” “I love performing under this mask,” she said, later giving the panelist a clue by saying she had a ” rendezvous” with Robin Thicke in Sin City. The panelist guessed Gloria Gaynor, Queen Latifah and Mary Wilson from the Supremes. But after Miss Monster left the stage, the judges wondered if Miss Monster might actually be Chaka Khan.
The Kangaroo was the third to perform. She sang Rihanna’s “Diamonds.” Ken Jeong guessed Rosie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley; Nicole Scherzinger suspected it could be Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan, and Jenny McCarthy said The Kangaroo might be Jordin Sparks.
White Tiger was the last to take the stage. For his third performance, White Tiger sang Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” Sticking with popular opinion, McCarthy assumed White Tiger was Rob Gronkowski; Jeong proposed the performer was Fabio and Scherzinger suggested White Tiger was possibly Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello.
Miss Monster Was Unmasked, Revealing…
… legendary singer Chaka Khan! “I knew it the whole time,” Cannon said. “I heard that iconic voice, I said ‘That’s Chaka Khan! I’m still starstruck. I love you so much.”
In her final guess, Scherzinger correctly said Miss Monster was Chaka Khan. Jeong seemingly went out on a limb and proposed Reba McEntire was behind the mask. Even though Cannon didn’t agree, McCarthy stuck with her suggestion and said Queen Latifah. Remini also stuck with her original guess and said Mary Wilson. In the end, Thicke agreed with Scherzinger, saying it was probably Chaka Khan behind the mask.
