Nintendo has announced the release date for the highly anticipated Mario Party 10, which has been set for March 20, 2015.
This is much earlier than we originally anticipated, as we were thinking that Mario Party 10 would be coming sometime in the middle of the summer — we’re allowed to be wrong once in awhile, aren’t we? Regardless, Mario Party 10 will allow you to use your amiibos in game, as tapping an amiibo to the gamepad will throw your character onto a game board. Nintendo also used today’s Nintendo Direct to announce a special set of Mario amiibo that will feature six new figures, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser and Toad. And, Mario Party 10 will work with nine different amiibo at launch. Unfortunately, you’ll have to first erase the data from Smash Wii U and 3DS in order to use them, though. Which sort of defeats the purpose of these amiibo, no?
So, that’s kind of cool, I guess. We also learned that there will be some select Wii games coming to the Wii U via the eShop for a re-release, although there was no mention of HDifying them or anything like that — we just know that they’ll be available for download.
