All Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games

Nintendo has remained incredibly tight-lipped about its next console – codenamed the Nintendo NX – since it was first mentioned back in 2015. In the wake of several E3 announcements concerning NX games as well as some leaked information (including rumors of Pokémon and Mario NX games), curiosity surrounding the upcoming console is at an all-time high.

Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has cited a unique idea as the reason for Nintendo’s secrecy. He told Associated Press:

“In terms of NX, there’s an idea that we’re working on. That’s why we can’t share anything at this point, and I don’t want to comment on the other companies. If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.”

No further information is available as to what this idea might be, but it’s certainly an exciting prospect, and hopefully we’ll know more soon. With the NX reportedly coming in March 2017, just when exactly is Nintendo planning on an official reveal? They wisely chose not to discuss it at E3 amid all the competition, and it is rumored that it will be unveiled at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in September.

In the meantime, here is a list of every Nintendo NX game that has been officially confirmed, as well as rumored games from reliable sources and IPs that are likely to make an appearance.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Release Date: TBA 2017
Developer: Nintendo

Ever since the latest The Legend of Zelda title for Wii U was delayed to 2016, it had been widely speculated that Nintendo may be holding off to release it on the NX as well. This was then officially confirmed prior to this year’s E3 conference, and at the conference, Nintendo debuted the above trailer showing off the impressive graphics, some new gameplay mechanics, and revealing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the official title. The story begins with Link waking in a tomb from a century-long sleep to find Calamity Ganon wreaking havoc on Hyrule. We know that the game will be massively open world and that unlike previous games, Link will be able to obtain RPG-style armor that actually has stats, as well as a multitude of new weapons.
