Pokemon Go  has been quietly updated for Android devices just a few days after the last major update hit. So what’s different in Version 0.39.1?

This is a relatively minor update, so don’t expect any huge changes this time around. It seems that Version 0.39.1 has just fixed a few minor bugs that have popped up in recent weeks. For example, after Niantic updated the game on Friday, an issue popped up where the Pokemon Go Plus tutorial screen was not loading text properly, displaying “pgp_tip_title,” “pgp_tips_1_text_1,” etc. With Version 0.39.1, this is no longer the case.

A lot of devices, particularly Android devices, were also having some issues of increased loading times and crashes after updating to Version 0.39.0. Based on anecdotal evidence from trainers, Version 0.39.1 appears to have addressed that, with a lot of users thankfully experiencing fewer crashes and faster loading times since updating.

Finally, some players were having issues with the camera moving at slow speeds, and that has apparently been addressed by Version 0.39.1. It remains to be seen if anything else was altered by 0.39.1, but if so, we’ll hear more about it in the next few days. This update does not currently have an iOS equivalent.

Version 0.39.1 comes just a few days after Version 0.39.0, which was a more significant change in the game. That added a whole new feature to the game where players can find out where their Pokemon was caught. However, the information is unfortunately rather vague, as the game pretty much only tells you the city you got the Pokemon in.

Version 0.39.0 also included a change to Pokemon Go Plus, as users of that device can now catch Pokemon that have spawned from Incense items. That was not possible when Plus first came out.

Niantic has generally been aiming to release Pokemon Go updates every two weeks, although these kinds of minor updates usually don’t count towards that schedule. The next major update is expected to be released on or around Friday, October 7th.
