MLG Vegas 2016 is about to take place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. How much money is on the line this year?
Two competitions will be held during MLG Vegas 2016: one in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and one in Overwatch. For the Call of Duty tournament, teams will be competing for a prize pool of $100,000.
That money will be broken up as follows:
- 1st Place: $40,000
- 2nd Place: $24,000
- 3rd Place: $16,000
- 4th Place: $8,000
- 5th Place: $4,000
- 6th Place: $4,000
- 7th Place: $2,000
- 8th Place: $2,000
Then there’s the Overwatch competition, which will also feature a prize pool of $100,000. However, that money will be broken up a bit differently.
Here’s how the $100,000 will be given out in the Overwatch tournament:
- 1st Place: $40,000
- 2nd Place: $20,000
- 3rd Place: $12,000
- 4th Place: $12,000
- 5th Place: $5,000
- 6th Place: $5,000
- 7th Place: $3,000
- 8th Place: $3,000
Playing in the Call of Duty tournament will be Cloud9, compLexity Gaming, Echo Fox, FaZe Clan, Luminosity Gaming, The Gosu Crew, OpTic Gaming, Team Revenge, Rise Nation, Team Allegiance, Team EnVyUs and Team Kaliber. The competition will begin on Friday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time and continue on Saturday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Meanwhile, the Overwatch tournament will consist of FaZe Clan, Cloud9, NRG eSports, Rise Nation, Fnatic, Team EnVyUs, Team Liquid and compLexity. That competition will begin on Friday, December 15th at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time and continue on Saturday, December 17th at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
For those wanting to watch the tournament online, you may be surprised to learn that MLG Vegas is actually not being broadcast on Twitch. Instead, it will be streaming on MLG.tv and YouTube.
