Prey’s soundtrack is out now on iTunes. The soundtrack contains 14 songs from the game for $9.99.
Most of the game’s music was composed by Mick Gordon, whose resume includes Doom (2016), Killer Instinct (2013), and Wolfenstein: The New Order. Matt Piersall (aka GL33k) handled Prey’s sound design, sound implementation, and audio direction and also partnered Gordon with the music composition. The song “Into the Tunnels” is credited by Piersall. The song “Stranded” is credited to Ben Crossbones who composed the music to Organ Trail: Director’s Cut and Burgertime World Tour. The songs “Semi Sacred Geometry” and “Mind Games” are credited to Piersall and Raphael Colantonio, the Co-Creative Director and Owner of Arkane Studios and author of “Brigmore Lullaby” in Dishonored 2.
Prey’s soundtrack is already a high point of the game from what I heard from the demo. The sound design is impeccable, accenting the most unnerving moments of the game. The variety of moods on offer from the driving combat music to the more subtle sounds keeps up the pace of the game.
Prey is releasing this Friday on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
