New England Patriots quarterback and five-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady has been named the cover athlete of Madden NFL 18.
“The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me,” said Brady in a statement provided by EA. “Especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I’m not one to believe in curses, so I’m ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn’t stand a chance!!!”
This will be the first time in Madden history that teammates have been on the cover in back-to-back years. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was on the cover of Madden NFL 17.
n addition to the cover news, EA also announced pre-order offers for two different editions of Madden NFL 18. Fans who pre-order the standard edition will receive numerous benefits, including the choice of an Elite player from their favorite NFL team for use in Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, as well as five Squad Packs, redeemable at launch. For those Tom Brady fans out there, you may want to upgrade to the G.O.A.T. Edition, which gets you everything found in the standard edition, but also one of five G.O.A.T. players of your choice for Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, and more.
If you are picking up the game on Xbox One and happen to be an EA Access member, you can play a 10 hour trial starting August 17. EA Access members will receive a 10 percent discount if they purchase a digital copy for Xbox One. G.O.A.T. edition owners will get three day early access to the title starting August 22.
Brady won his most recent Super Bowl ring this past February by overcoming a 25 point deficit against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 in what was arguably the greatest comeback in sports history.
Madden NFL 18 launches worldwide August 25 for PS4 and Xbox One. The standard edition will cost $59.99 while the G.O.A.T. will be available for $79.99. There isn’t news on whether it will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3.
