Overwatch’s Double XP Weekend is almost here and players are already gearing up to earn as many loot boxes as they can. Developer Blizzard rarely hosts these kinds of events for players, so it will surely draw large crowds who are hoping to unlock a variety of new loot focused around the Anniversary Event.
If you are looking to start this event as soon as possible then you will want to make sure you’re logged on tonight. The Overwatch Double XP Weekend officially begins June 8 and will run until June 12, which is when the special one-year anniversary celebration is set to finish as well. Here are all the start times for this double experience event:
Americas:
- 5:00 p.m. PST – June 8
- 6:00 p.m. MDT – June 8
- 7:00 p.m. CDT – June 8
- 8:00 p.m. EST – June 8
- 9:00 p.m. BRT – June 8

Unlike other seasonal events, the Anniversary Celebration comes with a special set of emotes for every single hero currently in the game. These dance emotes are highly coveted by players as they are not only extremely cool looking, but help reinforce each character’s unique personality. However, given they cost 750 coins a pop, it can be a daunting task to try and earn every single one of them before the event finishes.
This makes opening as many loot boxes as possible key, which can be done by either purchasing them outright or by leveling up. There are also 11 new Legendary Skins on some of the game’s most popular characters including Genji, Hanzo, Lucio, and Tracer. These are even more expensive and will run users 3,000 coins each making them even harder to obtain then all of the emotes. Blizzard also confirmed that the dance emotes are going to stay tied to the event.
