While Splatoon 2 has been receiving new weapons with some regularity it has been lacked in the new maps department. We have received a new map in the form of the Shifty Station but that map is exclusive to Splatfests so we don’t get to experience all that often.
Ahead of Nintendo’s Gamescom show, the gaming giant has announced Splatoon 2 is receiving two new maps and a new weapon and it’s all arriving within a week or so. One of the maps is even arriving today.
The map coming this weekend is called Manta Maria and it will be available in both Turf War and Ranked Battles. With a name like Manta Maria it should come as no surprise that it takes place on a ship as your team of Inklings battle it out. The second map is called Lost Outpost and it will join the Salmon Run rotation some time later today. Both of the these maps will also be available in The Shoal for local multiplayer matches.
One more weapon is arriving as well and it is coming just in time for the third Splatfest. On September 1 players will be able to begin inking with the Bubble Blower special weapon which will first be available in a set with the Forge Splattershot Pro.
If you’re interested in learning more about what content is coming to Splatoon 2 then you can check out what has been datamined so far. Keep in mind that none of this information is 100 percent confirmed so it’s all speculation even if it seems very likely.
If you’ve been having trouble securing yourself a Nintendo Switch console and a copy of Splatoon 2 then WalMart might have what you’re looking. A bundle exclusive to WalMart that features Splatoon 2, a Nintendo Switch, a carrying case and Neon Pink and Neon Green Joy-Cons will be available starting September 8.
