If you want to improve your chances in South Park: The Fractured But Whole’s turn-based combat then you’ll need to collect artifacts. These items will increase your heroes “Might” level, which is directly tied to how much damage you and your team will do. Every mission has a recommended Might level, so it’s important you keep pace with the game otherwise it will be difficult to beat some encounters.
Additionally, every artifact offers bonuses for your team along with stat increases for your character. It’s important to take these buffs into consideration, especially if you are playing on the higher difficulty setting. There is no way to increase the Might level of an artifact, however, you can get crafting plans for more advanced versions of these items. Here are all the ways to obtain artifacts:
- Crafting
- Completing Side Quests
- Completing Main Quests
- Hidden Around Town
- Purchase Them at Vendors
- Earned as a Reward After a Fight
Typically, the most potent artifacts are either crafted or given out at the end of side quests from the townsfolk. Most artifacts don’t require a ton of crafting materials, however, you might want to stock up on Edgar’s Glue. This item is used in a lot of the higher end artifacts, so make sure to stop by a vendor and pick some up.
Additionally, you will want to make sure that your artifacts balance and reflect the build of your team. Having high-status effect damage with virtually no status effect moves is just a wasted slot. While the extra Might is nice, you will always want to consider the Team Bonuses these items offer. Some skills are simply better than others so we recommend you prioritize Ultimate Recovery, Health Recovery, Bonus Ally Health, and Critical Strike Damage. Artifacts are a key part of character building, so always be on the lookout for these items in South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
