John Howard and Jake Ellenberger are expected to face off on the main card of “UFC on Versus 2” in August.
That’s according to MMA Diehards, who issued the report this afternoon. Bout agreements have not been issued, but the fight has been verbally agreed to by both parties.
“UFC on Versus 2” is expected to take place Aug. 1 at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ellenberger was scheduled to face Ben Saunders in a prelim bout at UFC 111 last month, but was removed from the card when Saunders instead stepped up to face Jon Fitch on the televised card. Ellenberger’s last bout saw him score a victory over Mike Pyle at UFC 108 in January.
Howard scored a KO victory over Daniel Roberts at “UFC on Versus 1” in March.
