World Extreme Cagefighting is breaking into the pay-per-view format later this month with WEC 48. But for those expecting the voice of Frank Mir or Stephon Bonnar, consider yourself warned, as UFC commentators Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg are set to walk the fans through the evening’s event.
Rogan confirmed via Twitter today that his partner and he would be making the move to the WEC for the first time. When MMA analyst Dave Farra asked Rogan if he would be calling the fights on April 24, Rogan simply, yet excitedly replied, “YES!”
Rogan and Goldberg have become the voices of the UFC, as they have taken care of the color commentary on the broadcasts for some time now. However, that will not be changing, as the sister-company of the UFC under the Zuffa banner seems to just be borrowing the two…at least for now.
The April 24 event is set for ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California and features a featherweight title fight between Urijah Faber and champion Jose Aldo, along with a lightweight title bout between the champion Benson Henderson and Donald Cerrone in a rematch from their 2009 affair. The card is one of the best in WEC history and will be available on PPV for the price of $44.95.
