MMAWeekly.com is reporting that UFC light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader will be sidelined for six weeks after having surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right hand.
In his most recent fight, Bader scored an impressive knockout victory over Keith Jardine at UFC 110 to move his record to a perfect 11-0.
“He had a torn tendon in his right hand, on the middle finger,” Bader’s manager David Martin told MMAWeekly.com. “He has six weeks of no contact with the hand and then after that he’ll be ready when Joe Silva calls.”
According to the report, Bader had successful surgery last week and now has a cast on his right hand. The former Ultimate Fighter winner won’t be able to train for at least six weeks, meaning Bader will most likely return to the Octagon some time later this summer.
