Former UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan is finally ready to make a return to the fight game.
Parisyan told MMAJunkie.com that he will make an appearance for Impact FC in Australia, where he will face Brazilian Luis Dutra Jr.
Parisyan hasn’t seen action since January 2009, when he defeated Dong Hyun Kim by split decision at UFC 94. That win was turned into a no-contest when Parisyan tested positive for prescription painkillers after the fight. Parisyan was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and ordered to pay a fine of $32,000.
Parisyan was scheduled to face Dustin Hazelett at UFC 106 in November, but withdrew just days before the event. UFC President Dana White subsequently fired Parisyan via Twitter, saying that Parisyan would never again fight for the UFC.
Parisyan joins the recently banned Paul Daley, who was cut from the UFC after a cheap-shot punch following a bout with Josh Koscheck last weekend.
