Gomi, WEC’s Roller Face Off In Fan Expo Grappling Superfight

Takanori Gomi and Shane Roller Take Part In Grappling Superfight at the UFC Fan Expo

Former Pride lightweight champion “The Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi will take on WEC lightweight contender Shane Roller in a grappling superfight at the UFC Fan Expo on May 28th.

“The Fireball Kid” made his octagon debut at Ultimate Fight Night 21 and was submitted by lightweight contender Kenny “Kenflo” Florian in the third round via rear naked choke. Gomi however is still no stranger to grappling matches. In Japan, Gomi has won the All Combat Wrestling Championship four-times.

WEC lightweight Shane Roller is a part of Team Takedown and is a three-time All American wrestler that’s been under the tutelage of Marc Laimon. Roller last saw action when he submitted Anthony Njokuani at WEC 48 by way of rear naked choke.
