UFC welterweight Phil Baroni is scheduled to make his return to the cage at UFC 118 in August.
MMAJunkie.com reported the news this morning. Baroni’s opponent has not been decided.
Baroni has not scored a UFC win since 2002. He returned to the promotion to face Amir Sadollah at UFC 106, where he lost a decision in a bout that saw him tire quickly but never give up. Baroni now finds himself in a must-win situation.
UFC 118 takes place Aug. 28 at the TD Garden in Boston. The card will be headlined by a lightweight title rematch between champ Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. The co-main event is scheduled to be Randy Couture taking on the debuting James Toney.
