Spike TV will telecast live coverage of the official fighter weigh-ins for this Saturday’s “UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin” card.
The network made the official announcement today. Spike also verified that will be televising the Seth Petruzelli/Ricardo Romero bout for free, in addition to the previously-announced Brendan Schaub/Chris Tuchscherer bout. The change was made after Kendall Grove criticized the network’s handling of the Ultimate Fighter reality series.
The UFC 116 weigh-ins will begin at 7:00 p.m ET/4:00 p.m. PT on Spike.
UFC 116 is headlined by the long-awaited heavyweight title clash between champion Brock Lesnar and interim champion Shane Carwin. The pair were originally scheduled to face off late last year, but an internal illness put Lesnar on the shelf for a year. Carwin, meanwhile, went on to defeat former heavyweight champion Frank Mir to capture the interim belt and secure (yet again) his match with Lesnar.
