Dominick Cruz’s title defense against Joseph Benavidez at WEC 50 earned the bantamweight champion a slot in the upper tier of earners from Wednesday’s event.
The bantamweight champion walked away with $22,000, with $11,000 of that coming from a win bonus. However, he was not the top earner from the August 18 card.
Coming in the top spot, the now top bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen earned a close unanimous decision against Brad Pickett on the evening’s main card. His efforts earned him $25,000, making Jorgensen the top earner based on salary alone.
