Heavyweight boxing champ earns $500k in loss to Couture
James Toney and Randy Couture were the top earners at last weekend’s UFC 118 event in Boston.
The two co-headlining fighters received the lion’s share of attention heading into the first-ever UFC event in Boston, with much of the focus squaring on Toney’s attempt to become the first major boxing star to cross into mixed martial arts.
Couture easily took Toney to the mat with a low single and dominated him from there, submitting the boxing heavyweight champion in just over three minutes.
In addition to the salaries listed below, Diaz, Davis, and Lauzon took home $60,000 each in Fight of the Night bonuses.
