HeavyMMA.com is proud to announce that Jonathan Brookins has joined the site as a special guest blogger for “The Ultimate Fighter 12.”
Beginning this Wednesday, Brookins will pen an exclusive blog covering his time spent in the Ultimate Fighter house. He’ll have a new blog entry after every new episode throughout the season.
“I’m excited for the chance to do this. If I could, I would just hang out with every person who watches the show and talk about it with them,” Brookins told Heavy.com. “But this is the next best thing, and I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts with all the Heavy.com readers.”
“The Ultimate Fighter 12” is the latest installment of the Spike-televised reality series. This season focuses on two teams of lightweights coached by UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and top contender Josh Koscheck. St. Pierre and Koscheck will square off for St. Pierre’s belt in December. The TUF 12 tournament will conclude with a live finale on Dec. 4 in Las Vegas.
Brookins earned his spot in the house with a decision win over Ran Weather during the premiere episode of the show last Wednesday.
Brookins took his first professional fight in 2006, scoring a 19-second knockout over Allen Berube. He would earn four straight victories before dropping a decision to Harris Sarmiento. But he is best known for a loss to Jose Aldo at “WEC 36: Faber vs. Brown.” The future featherweight champion used his signature leg kicks to batter Brookins before securing a third round TKO victory.
Since the loss to Aldo, Brookins has earned three consecutive victories over Stephen Ledbetter, Luis Palomino and Yosdenis Cedeno. His career record now stands at 11-3, with other notable victories including Jose Santibanez and Yves Jabouin.
