UFC lightweights Paul Taylor and Gabe Ruediger will face off at UFC 126.
HeavyMMA.com confirmed the bout with sources close to the event. MMAWeekly.com first reported that the bout was scheduled for UFC 127 in Australia, but our sources tell us that is not the case.
UFC 126 takes place Feb. 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and features a headlining bout between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort.
Taylor last appeared at UFC 121, losing a close to decision to Sam Stout. It was Taylor’s first appearance at lightweight after dropping from welterweight. His UFC record isn’t the greatest thing on earth, but his exciting style has helped him keep his job.
Ruediger last fought in the UFC against Joe Lauzon at UFC 118, but lost in convincing fashion to the Boston native. Ruediger was then scheduled to face Taylor’s teammate in Paul Kelly, but pulled out of the fight with a groin injury.
