The UFC is countering a television ban in Germany by offering UFC 122 free on the internet.
UFC U.K. President Marshall Zelaznik revealed the news to MMAJunkie.com on Friday.
The event will be available on German sports website Spox.com as well as Germany.UFC.com, the German-language version of the promotion’s official website.
“We think most of our fans are very internet savvy, so it’s a perfect fit for us,” Zelaznik said.
UFC 122 takes place Nov. 13 at Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. It’s headlined by a middleweight contender’s eliminator bout between Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami.
The fight between Zuffa lawyers and German officials continues to rage. In March, the government withdrew its approval to broadcast mixed martial arts programming in the country, prompting a ban on all UFC programming. UFC lawyers filed suit, and litigation is ongoing.
