“WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki” drew an average of 570,000 viewers for last Thursday’s Versus broadcast – a marked improvement over previous WEC events.
The 0.57 TV rating cements Urijah Faber as the biggest proven draw in WEC history.
It was the second-largest television audience for a WEC event of 2010, trailing only WEC 46, an event that was also headlined by Faber.
WEC 52 took place at the Pearl at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Faber defeated Takeya Mizugaki in the main event, while Team Alpha Male teammates Joseph Benavidez and Chad Mendes were also victorious on the televised card.
Faber’s victory over Mizugaki likely earned him a shot at the winner of next month’s Dominick Cruz/Scott Jorgensen UFC bantamweight title fight at WEC 53.
