Kimbo Slice to make pro wrestling debut
Street fighting legend turned mixed martial artist Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson is scheduled to make his professional wrestling debut on Feb. 5 in Fukuoka, Japan.
Upon leaving mixed martial arts after being cut from the UFC after losing on “The Ultimate Fighter 10” and going 1-1 in his two fights with the organization, Slice discussed making the move to boxing with ESPN in August.
Boxing didn’t pan out for the YouTube sensation, and now the backyard brawler will make the jump to professional wrestling.
“[Slice left the boxing training camp] due to some various injuries and to go film The Scorpion King. Upon his return, he didn’t show me any interest in boxing, so we just decided for right now to put it to the side,” said Slice’s former promoter Jared Shaw to MMAfighting.com.
Slice’s professional wrestling debut will be in the Inoki Genome Federation’s upcoming eight-man tournament at “Genome 14” against disgraced Sumo wrestler Shinichi “Wakakirin” Suzukawa.
