Leonard Garcia vs. Nam Phan 2 scheduled for UFC Fight Night 24

Immediate rematches aren’t the norm in mixed martial arts, but sometimes they’re warranted.

When the judges scorecards were read following Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia at “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” on Dec. 4, many where shocked that Garcia got the split decision nod.

Those in attendance let their feelings be known with boos, but no one was more surprised than Nam Phan.

“Even if that first round was close, I still feel like I won the first round,” Phan told Heavy.com following the fight. “I totally thought I dominated the second and third rounds. I don’t know how it could have even been a split decision.

“There’s nothing that he did that could have swayed the fight in his favor.”

Garcia felt he won the first and third rounds.

“I felt I won the clinches. I felt he beat me a little bit as far as landing more, but I think I landed the harder punches,” said Garcia in his post-fight interview with Heavy.com.

The two get to settle the score at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle on March 26.  Heavy.com confirmed with sources close to the bout that Phan and Garcia have agreed to a rematch.
