Two more bouts official for UFC 128
The final two bouts to the now-complete UFC 128 card have been made official.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced this week that a welterweight match up between Mike Pyle and Ricardo Almeida will be featured on the preliminary card of the event, as will a middleweight tilt between Nick Catone and Dan Miller.
Pyle enters his upcoming match up after upsetting top prospect John Hathaway at UFC 120, while Almeida looks to build off a win of his own after dominating T.J. Grant en route to a unanimous decision victory at UFC 124 this past November. Both welterweights have struggled to break into the top tier of the division throughout their lengthy stints with the promotion.
In the middleweight bout, Miller plans to continue his comeback following consecutive wins after losing three straight between May of 2009 and 2010. He last fought at UFC 124 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, defeating Joe Doerksen last November. Meanwhile, Catone rebounded from a pair of losses with a victory over Jesse Forbes at UFC Fight Night 20 back in January of 2010. He has not fought since.
UFC 128 is set for Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center on March 19 and features a light heavyweight title fight between champion Mauricio Rua and former champion Rashad Evans. Also on the card, former WEC champions Urijah Faber and Eddie Wineland will battle for contention in a bantamweight tilt.
