UFC 128 Official, Five Fights Announced

Five fights have been announced for UFC 128, which was made official earlier today

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that five fights have been officially announced for UFC 128 this March.

UFC 128 is set for March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and tickets for the event go on sale on January 13.

Topping the list of fights, a light heavyweight title bout between champion Mauricio Rua and former 205 lb. champion Rashad Evans will serve as the main event of the evening, while a bantamweight contest between former WEC champions Eddie Wineland and Urijah Faber will serve as the co-main event.

Also on the card, the promotion has announced a lightweight bout between Gleison Tibau and Kurt Pellegrino, another lightweight bout between Anthony Njokuani and Edson Barboza, and a bantamweight tilt between former top contender Joseph Benavidez and Ian Loveland.

No other contests have been officially announced by the promotion, though several have been rumored. A middleweight bout between Yoshihiro Akiyama and Chael Sonnen was one of these rumored match ups, but today it was revealed that the promotion has suspended Sonnen due to legal issues outside of the cage.
