Bellator welterweight tournament begins March 5

All four welterweight tournament bouts set for this coming Bellator season will take place on the same evening.

According to Bellator officials, Bellator 35 will be the event, taking place on March 5, and the eight competitors will be featured on the main card.

In the top spot on the card, former champion Lyman Good faces off against Chris Lozano, while former 170 lb. tournament runner-up Dan Hornbuckle has been matched up against Brent Weedman. Rounding out the main card, Steve Carl and UFC/Strikeforce veteran Jay Hieron face off, while Rick Hawn and Jim Wallhead will do the same.

The tournament is set to be one of several to happen during Bellator Fighting Championships‘ fourth season, which will last 12 weeks. All events will be broadcast live on MTV2 on Saturday nights beginning this March.
