After a few switches, the UFC 129 fight card is finalized.
Vladimir Matyushenko and Jason Brilz were lined up to face each other at UFC 122 in Germany, but an injury force Brilz to withdraw from the match up. The two will now meet at UFC 129 in Toronto on April 30.
MMAJunkie.com first reported the story.
Brilz was a replacement for Matt Hamill who was originally scheduled to face Phil Davis at UFC 129. Hamill was removed from the match up and aligned to take on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 130 instead.
Davis was then moved to the UFC Fight Night 24 main event against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira following Tito Ortiz pulling out of the fight due to injury.
Now the replacement gets a replacement.
Brilz is coming off a split decision loss to Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 114, although many felt he did enough to win the fight.
Matyushenko has gone 3-1 since returning to the UFC with his only loss being to top contender Jon Jones.
UFC 129 takes place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on April 30 and is headlined by the UFC welterweight title bout between Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields.
