UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva

UFC 126 draws 9,667 fans for a $3.6 million live gate

UFC 126 drew 9,667 fans on February 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center for a live gate of $3.6 million.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer released those figures to MMAjunkie.com earlier today.

The event, which took place just over one week ago, featured middleweight title holder and future UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva‘s dominant title defense against Vitor Belfort. The card also included Jon Jones earning a title shot against light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua at UFC 128 this March.

In terms of total live gate, UFC 126 comes in third place in the history of the promotion. UFC 79, which featured the third fight between Georges St. Pierre and Matt Hughes, and UFC 100, which featured Brock Lesnar‘s destruction of Frank Mir, are the only two events to top the UFC’s latest show.
