UFC streams free fights on social networking site
UFC fans will be able to watch two preliminary bouts from Saturday’s UFC 127 event via the UFC’s official Facebook page. Two additional bouts will be available on the Ion network.
The promotion made the announcement on Monday on Facebook.
The Facebook preliminary bouts will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, while the Ion broadcast begins at 9 p.m. ET.
The first fight will feature Anthony Perosh and Tom Blackledge. Perosh, a native Australian, made his UFC debut back at UFC 110, losing to Mirko Cro Cop via doctor’s stoppage. The bout will serve as Blackledge’s UFC debut; the Wolfslair product has spent the majority of his career fighting for Cage Rage.
The second Facebook fight will be Tiequan Zhang making his featherweight debut against Jason Reinhardt. Zhang, also known as “The Mongolian Wolf,” is the first-ever Chinese national to compete under the UFC banner. He was defeated in his last outing at WEC 53 by Danny Downes. Rheinhardt’s sole UFC appearance came at UFC 78 when he lost to Joe Lauzon. It was the lone loss of his career.
The two fights available on Ion will be Ross Pearson vs. Spencer Fisher and James Te Huna vs. Alexander Gustafsson.
