Davis returns against Demarce in MFC debut
UFC veteran Marcus Davis will make his Maximum Fighting Championship debut this April against Curtis Demarce. Kajan Johnson, Davis’ original opponent, pulled out of the fight due to an injured shoulder.
Davis’ career with the UFC came to an expected close after the 37-year-old was knocked out by Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125 this past January. The loss was his second in a row and his fourth in five fights.
Demarce, meanwhile, is looking for redemption of his own, coming off a split-decision loss at “Maximum Fighting Championship 28” to Richie Wilson last month. The loss snapped an impressive seven fight winning streak, including a submission victory in his debut with the promotion back in September of last year.
The April 8 card is set for Caesars Windsor Hotel and Casino in Ontario, Canada. The lightweight bout will be featured as a part of the HDNet broadcast that evening.
