Ortiz, Bader square off at July event
Tito Ortiz will return to the Octagon at UFC 132 against light heavyweight prospect Ryan Bader.
Sources close to the fight confirmed the news with HeavyMMA.com on Monday morning. MMAWeekly.com was the first to report the story.
UFC 132 is currently scheduled for July 2 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Ortiz was originally scheduled to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira this Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 24, but a head injury requiring stitches forced him to pull out of the fight. Phil Davis took his place and will headline the show with Nogueira instead. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” has not competed in the Octagon since losing to Matt Hamill at UFC 121 last year.
Bader is coming off a one-sided loss to new UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who dismantled Bader in stunning fashion in a title eliminator bout last month. Jones went on to capture the title by destroying Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128 last Saturday night.
