Jim Miller handed Kamal Shalorus his first defeat at UFC 128.
Miller dismantled Shalorus on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The New Jersey native picked the “Prince of Persia” apart on the feet.
The two started at a furious pace with both willing to exchange. Miller utilized better technique to beat Shalorus to the punch throughout the fight.
The end came in the third round when Miller caught Shalorus with an uppercut and followed it up with a knee that dropped Shalorus. Miller quickly finished with a series of punches.
“Kamal was tough in there. I hit him so hard I think I might have cracked open my hand. He has a hard head,” said Miller following the win.
Miller used his time on the microphone to call for a title shot.
“That’s seven in a row. Seven in a row in arguably the toughest division in the UFC, “ said Miller. “I’m ready. I’m ready for it.”
