Nate Marquardt decisions Dan Miller at UFC 128.
Dan Miller took the fight with Marquardt on short notice when Yoshihiro Akiyama was forced off the card due to travel complications from the recent earthquake and tsunami that recently devastated Japan.
Miller worked to get the fight to the ground from the start. He applied two guillotine chokes, but Marquardt escaped them and ended up in top position.
As the fight wore on, Marquardt’s striking superiority began to show. His right hand started finding its mark more and more. He opened up a cut over Miller’s left eye.
Miller displayed his toughness, but came up short on the judges’ scorecards. All three judges scored the fight 30-27 for Marquardt.
Marquardt entered UFC 128 off of a loss to Yushin Okami at UFC 122.
