UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields goes on air an hour earlier than past UFC pay-per-view events.
Heavy.com has confirmed that “UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields” pay-per-view will start an hour earlier than past UFC broadcasts. Rogers Sportsnet first reported the change on Monday.
The UFC has not officially announced the bump up in start time, but UFC 129 event page on UFC.com reflects the time change.
The 9 p.m. start time on the East Coast is expected to remain for future UFC pay-per-view events, but will not affect the “UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones” event on March 19. That event goes live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
UFC 129 takes place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on April 30 and is headlined by the welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields. Jose Aldo will defend his UFC featherweight title against Mark Hominick and UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture faces Lyoto Machida in a light heavyweight match up.
