Warren meets Galvao at Bellator 41

A catchweight bout between featherweight champion Joe Warren and Marcos Galvao is set for Bellator 41.

Sherdog.com reported the news earlier today, also revealing that Warren’s 145 lb. belt will not be on the line.

Warren, a seven-fight veteran of the sport, burst onto the Bellator scene with a successful run through the season two featherweight tournament, earning a title shot against Joe Soto at Bellator 27. Warren took home the title that evening after knocking out the former champion in the second frame of the five round bout. However, Warren has not competed since that fight, which took place over six months ago.

His upcoming opponent, Galvao, is also on a solid winning streak, having won his last three contests. He last competed at “Ring of Combat 32,” defeating Ryan Vaccaro via unanimous decision. His fight against Warren will serve as his debut under the Bellator banner.

Bellator 41 is set for April 16, though a city and venue have yet to be locked down. The only other bout currently being rumored for the card at this point is another non-title fight, as bantamweight champion Zack Makovsky faces off against Chad Robichaux.
