St. Pierre-Shields special draws 610,000 viewers
The latest “UFC Primetime” drew 610,000 viewers on Spike TV earlier this week.
MMAjunkie.com reported the numbers earlier today.
The episode, the first of three, featured an in-depth look into the training camps for UFC 129 main event fighters Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields, who will be facing off later this month. The series airs on Spike on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. ET.
Shields looks to take the 170 lb. title from current champion St. Pierre on April 30 in Toronto in one of the biggest events of the year. The submission ace is being touted as the most likely welterweight to take the title away from the seemingly unbeatable champ, and the bout is expected to be the most competitive welterweight championship in some time.
The next episode airs this coming Wednesday, while another will air one week later.
