Swick returns against Silva at UFC 134
UFC welterweight Mike Swick is finally ready to return to the Octagon after a lengthy time outside of it.
Swick is expected to return to action for the first time since UFC 109 against Erick Silva at UFC 134.
In his last contest, Swick was defeated by Paulo Thiago via second round submission in Las Vegas. Prior to that loss, Swick was defeated at UFC 105 by Dan Hardy, who would go on to fight Georges St. Pierre in his next fight.
Swick has been suffering from a stomach ailment that prevented him from training.
Meanwhile, Silva has been dominant and flown under the radar, having not lost since December of 2006. He last fought at Jungle Fight 23 where he earned a submission victory and the promotion’s welterweight title.
UFC 134 is set for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27 and features a middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami. Mauricio Rua will also return on the card after losing his belt to Jon Jones at UFC 128 against Forrest Griffin in a rematch.
