Brenneman steps in for Riddle, meets Grant at “UFC on Versus 4”
Matt Riddle has pulled out of his “UFC on Versus 4” contest against T.J. Grant, and Charlie Brenneman has stepped in as a replacement.
The news was announced by UFC officials earlier today.
At 2-1 in the UFC, Brenneman looks to further build up his stock following a unanimous decision victory over Amilcar Alves at “UFC: Fight For The Troops II.” He debuted with the promotion with a victory over Jason High in March of 2010, but was then defeated by Johny Hendricks a few months later.
Unlike his new opponent, Grant enters this contest coming off a decision loss to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 124. He is now an even 3-3 in the UFC, alternating wins and losses throughout his six-fight career with the promotion.
“UFC on Versus 4” is set for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Consol Energy Center on June 26 and features a welterweight main event between Anthony Johnson and Nate Marquardt. A heavyweight tilt between Pat Barry and Cheick Kongo will serve as the evening’s co-main event.
