Two fighters cut from contracts
John Howard and Andre Winner have been released from their UFC contracts.
Howard confirmed the news via a video released to his fans on Twitter.
Winner last appeared at UFC 132, losing an easy decision to Anthony Njokuani in a bout in which Winner was rarely event competitive. Winner, in fact, was lucky to even make it out of the first round after being badly battered, nearly to the point of a ref stoppage.
Winner had previously lost to Dennis Siver and Nik Lentz. He was never able to find his footing in the UFC after reaching the finals of the Ultimate Fighter 9, a bout in which he was outpointed by teammate Ross Pearson.
Howard lost a unanimous decision to Matt Brown at UFC 132 and had previously lost two consecutive bouts to Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger.
