UFC 133 prelims on Spike TV draw 1.4 million viewers

The UFC 133 preliminary special on Spike TV earned 1.4 million viewers and drew a household rating of 1.0.

The hour-long special also dominated key demographics, coming in at number one for cable television for the 18-49 and 18-34 year old male demographics.

UFC 133 took place last weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the preliminary card on Spike featured a pair of bouts. In the opener, Chad Mendes defeated Rani Yahya via unanimous decision to take yet another step towards a title shot, while Matt Hamill was defeated via technical knockout by Alexander Gustafsson in the final bout prior to the pay-per-view broadcast.

The live broadcast ranks in the middle of the pack in terms of average audience for the “UFC Prelims” specials on Spike TV. The preliminary broadcast for UFC 126 still is the lone special to hit the two million viewer mark.
