With Roberts injured, Waldburger meets Stumpf at UFN 25
An injury has forced Daniel Roberts out of his “UFC Fight Night 25” bout with T.J. Waldburger, and Mike Stumpf has stepped in as a late replacement.
The promotion confirmed the news earlier today.
Waldburger last fought at debuted in the UFC at “UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares,” earning a unanimous decision victory over David Mitchell. But in his next bout, a welterweight contest against Johny Hendricks at “UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis,” he lost via first round technical knockout.
Meanwhile, Stumpf looks to begin his UFC career the same way his upcoming opponent did. He last fought “Xtreme Fighting Organization 39,” winning via unanimous decision. He is 11-2 as a professional mixed martial artist.
“UFC Fight Night 25” is set for New Orleans, Louisiana on September 17. The event, which will broadcast live on Spike TV features a welterweight bout between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger.
